Facebook already gives videos uploaded directly to the site a huge advantage in your News Feed. Now that advantage is only getting bigger thanks to a new feature currently in testing.

Spotted by Techmeme editor Adam Haworth, the experimental feature makes it possible to watch a video on Facebook while you continue to scroll through the News Feed. Just click the new button next to volume control (it looks like a small white square inside a bigger square) and the video will detach and hover in front of everything else. From there you can drag it around the screen or close it with another quick click. The functionality is similar to what’s already available from the YouTube mobile app, but on the desktop.

For now it looks like Facebook’s latest test is limited to the desktop browser version of the social network. There’s no indication that it works on mobile, though there’s no reason that can’t happen down the line.
